Hello. My name is Chavon. I attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where I graduated in 2008. My teaching and tutoring experience includes working as a classroom teacher's aide for third grade. I have also worked as an after-school teacher for Sylvan Learning Center. There, I worked with students ranging in age from elementary school to high school freshman. I gave them additional guidance and support in Math and Reading. When I was an instructional aide, my focus was students in kindergarten and, first, second, and third grades. I offered daily support through focused reading assignment. My work resulted in students acquiring different strategies for reading that resulted in them advancing their respective reading levels. For the last four years, I have been a classroom teacher for first and second grades, with about 24 students in each class. I can tutor Elementary Math, Phonics, Reading, Grammar and Mechanics, Literature, Writing, Study Skills and Organization, and English. I live in Richton Park, Illinois. I like to dance, read, and play card games.
